Did you know that you can be an observer to the Canvas online courses? It's a great way to monitor student progress! You will need your student(s) to generate a code that will allow you access. You can find the instructions here: Canvas Instructions
This class just filled up, but May registration has begun! Online/Teacher-supported class begins Apr 1st. Registered students and parents will receive a detailed email next week with further instructions. All precautions given by our State Health Dept and CDC will be used during our driving range and road instruction driving. We currently have 10 openings for this class. Like you, we are just learning that Governor Gary R. Herbert, State Superintendent Syd Dickson, and the Utah State Board of Education “announced today that Utah’s K-12 public schools will extend their dismissal [soft closure] through Friday, May 1st.” Their press release further stated that they will “continue to evaluate the situation to make a determination about the remaining school year” and that:

This letter, dated March 15, is a follow up to the Nebo District letter dated March 13, and other letters that have been sent from your child’s school. It is intended to provide clarification regarding some general questions that have been circulating. Please help us to ensure that all parents, guardians, grandparents, or caregivers who provide student support are aware of this information.
NEBO SCHOOL DISTRICT TO DISMISS SCHOOLS -- Repeat
SALT LAKE CITY (March 14, 2020) - At a news conference yesterday afternoon, Gov. Gary R. Herbert mentioned that during public school’s two-week dismissal, parents who are unable to be home with children will have the option to bring them to school to be supervised by teachers. This is not the case.

NEBO SCHOOL DISTRICT TO DISMISS SCHOOLS
As directed by the State of Utah, all public schools in Utah will dismiss beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, for two weeks in response to COVID-19. This is a proactive measure.

Congrats to our Boys and Girls Basketball teams for taking 1st and 2nd place in the 5A State Tournament! Mini Conferences will be held Mon from 1:40-3pm. This is a great opportunity for students to meet with their teachers! Tuesday is a half-day and the ACT Test for Juniors. No school will be held for Sophomores or Seniors on Tues.
SheTech Explorer Day is a hands-on tech conference is on April 15, 2020, for high school girls ninth through twelfth grade. This day-long event will include hands-on workshops in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The ultimate goal is to expose girls to technology in a fun atmosphere as well as meet STEM role models to learn more about opportunities in those fields. Girls who attend will have access to internships, receive a SheTech certificate, receive pathway information and become part of a community to help girls have opportunities in STEM.
