Tuesday, May 23, proved to be an exciting, nail-biting state playoff round of softball with the Lady Red Devils bringing home a 7th inning win against Uintah, 5-4. Natalie Sumsion beat out a throw to first base in the bottom of the seventh inning allowing Sadie Clark to score the winning run in the 4A winners bracket game.
Springville advances in state play to now face Spanish Fork today, May 24, at 3 pm.
Eaquinto shows his best stuff to lift Timpanogos past Springville 5-0. Game played on Wednesday, May 17, at Timpanogos.

This year’s final assembly was marked with a recap of the year, student council video, introduction of new student council members, and a standing ovation from students to retiring teachers. This year’s senior class gift to the school will be a 3D Red Devil Logo statue in the student courtyard.
Haden Penrod won the 1600m and 800m and was second in the 400m. He was also high point athlete for 4A with 36 points. Brennen Rymer was second in the 100m and was a member of the winning 4x100m team (Rymer, Sean Holloway, Tyler Strong, and Griff Slavens). The girls 4x100m relay also took first place with Kennedy Clement, Kami Warner, Sena Warren, and Tara Warner.
Springville High Senior, Haden Norman, won the Fabrication contest at the Nebo Weld Expo last Saturday with his 8 foot by 16 foot trailer. This was a statewide competition for welding students. The fabrication division was sponsored by Intermountain LIft and Barber Metals. There were 58 contestants in the fabrication division. Haden won almost $500.00 in welding gear from The Lincoln Electric Company. Congratulations Haden!
On Thursday evening Springville High halls were filled with student performances and projects; all on display for parents, students, and community members to enjoy.
Student Projects and Performances included: Cheer, Drill, Dance Company, Polynesian Club, Latinos in Action, One Act Plays, Woodworking and Welding, Guitar, Folk and Jazz Band, FFA and ASL, Commercial Art/Photography, 3D Animation/Digital Media, Video Production, and Clothing & Textiles (Sewing).
Performance was Monday evening, May 15. Audrey Kimball was featured as violin soloist with the choir. We have a talented choir and director; thank you!

Monday evening, May 15, the SHS auditorium was filled with parents, grandparents, and community members honoring and awarding the amazing academic accomplishments of our 2017 Senior Class.
Many scholarship committee members expressed how they were "extremely impressed" with the quality of this year's scholarship candidates.
