Springville’s Girls Track and Field finish 2nd at State Championships, Boys place 5th

Springville’s Lady Red Devil girls track team was led by Juniors Kennedy Clement and Julie Sumsion.  Clement was the 100m champion, 2nd in the 200m, 1st 4x100m relay, and 3rd in the long jump. Sumsion was 3rd in the 1600m, 4th in the 3200m, 5th in the 800m, and 5th in the Medley relay. Other members of the winning girls 4x100m relay were Ciara Snapp, Elise Goodrich, and Jayden Nelson.

Springville’s boys track team placed 5th overall and were led by juniors Haden Penrod and Brennen Rymer.  Penrod was the 800m champion, 5th in 1600m, and 1st in the 4x400m relay. Rymer was 1st in the 4x400m, 3rd in the 4x100m relay, and 4th in the 200m. Others on the winning 4x400m, which set a new school record, were Sean Holloway and Randal Gleave. Running on the 4x100m relay with Brennen was Sean Holloway, Chris Jensen, and Devyn Tate. Grant Gardner was 8th in the 1600m, setting a new Utah State record for freshman.
