This past weekend, 14 SHS swimmers competed at the State 5A Championship swim meet.  The 5A division is by far the most competitive in the state.  Only the top 32 swimmers in the state are selected in each event to participate.  Of the 33 eligible 5A schools, there were only representatives from 26 women’s teams and 24 men’s teams.  Overall, our SHS women’s team placed 13th and our men’s team placed 8th. Here is a list of swimmers who participated in the state meet:

RED DEVILS swimmers had an amazing Region meet with countless great swims despite some recent illnesses and injuries affecting taper for several swimmers.  What a fun, incredible weekend to watch some fast swimming.

With only 21 girls entered in the meet, they still earned 3rd place and only 18 points away from 2nd place which is pretty small margin of points.  The boys team took second place with 27 swimmers.  Overall, our combined SHS team score earned us 2nd place!!!
