To end our summer, Springville FFA invited other area FFA chapters to join them for local Agriculture tours and a little friendly, competitive softball tournament. We were excited to host Payson, Spanish Fork, as well as North and South Summit chapters.

After a short drive, we enjoyed a tour of the Elberta Farm. Participants were very interested in the various activities and all seemed to enjoy the time there. One part of the tour took us near the tractors. Some of the tractors had wheels taller than most everyone. Some members also took a tour of the dairy to see the equipment and how the dairy operation works. While only a small sample, it was very interesting to experience, a little of what farm life is like.

Upon returning to Springville High, the intense softball action began. Game after game brought out both friendship and competition in each individual. Perhaps the highlight of the day for some was the tasty lunch cooked by Jeff Wimmer. Hot dogs and hamburgers never looked and tasted so good. Softball games resumed after our lunch was devoured. Springville FFA ended up the ultimate victors, claiming the championship for the home team. We thank all our guests for coming and the volunteers for helping us run our tournament. We hope this event grows in the coming years with more FFA chapters joining in the fun.
