Students of the Month from the Fine Arts Department

Congratulations to the October Students of the Month chosen by faculty in the Fine Arts Department.

James Fleming, nominated by Mrs. Fallon. "James is a hard worker. He is kind to others and has a positive attitude. He has amazing creativity and ceramic skill but also humble. He pushes himself to exceed expectations. "

Sarah Hawkins, nominated by Dr. Mendenhall. "Sarah is very positive, polite, kind and considerate of others. Her confidence is contagious and regularly gives others permission to step into their own confidence."

Malcolm Van Zwol, nominated by Mr. Hawks. "Malcom has worked very hard in all of his art classes and consistently produces work that pushes him to his limits and challenges his abilities. Malcom is never afraid to take on a project that to others sounds insurmountable and consistently has an attitude of I don't know how to do that but I bet I can figure it out!"

Gracie Stone, nominated by Mr. Booth. "Gracie has taken numerous challenges head on. She's learning how to play bass so we have more bass players in the orchestra while also learning: piano and viola, continuing her cello studies, and doing AP music. She worked hard all summer and it shows in class."

Clark Hansen, nominated by Mrs. Gwilliam. "Clark is an important member of our theatre dept. He always goes above and beyond what is asked of him. He gives a 110% to every role, dance, and activity we do. I can always count on Clark to participate and give thoughtful answers. He is kind to everyone and a friend to all. I am grateful to be his teacher."

Maddy West, nominated by Mrs. Jensen. "Maddy has really blossomed in her artistic pieces, she always has interesting ideas and immediately starts working on them. She challenged herself this summer to start to try and sell her works after being offered a few commissions and made over $1000 this summer. I love that she never gives up on her art and keeps trying new things to make them the way she wants."

Corben Taylor, nominated by Mrs. Jessop. "Corben has come a long way since his sophomore year. He completes all his work and he is aware of the schoolwork he needs to do and he does his best. He wants to get good grades. He treats others with kindness and respect. He is patient and friendly to everyone. He is a great asset to our class."
