Disclaimer: Nebo School District cannot support personal home devices. However, here are some troubleshooting tips that may work on both personal and school devices.
Press the power button for about three seconds to shut the Chromebook down. After your screen shuts down and turns black, wait 10 seconds, and then turn Chromebook back on. This will allow the Chrome web browser to update.
(To manually check for updates, follow these instructions or watch this video.)
*If that did not fix the problem, try these:
1. Try loading a different webpage. It could be that the webpage you are trying to access is having the issue.
3. Check for and install updates. Watch this video.
4. Restart Chromebook.
1. Check the volume setting. Make sure the volume for headphones is turned up. This is different from your Chromebooks audio out setting.
2. Make sure phones are plugged in. Unplug and re-plug.
3. Check audio settings. Watch this video.
4. Try using a different website, like YouTube, to see if headphones are working.
5. Try a different headset.
6. Restart the Chromebook and try again.
1. At school, check that you are trying to connect to the NSD-Tablet wifi, not STU-Open or other.
2. At home, check your local wifi connection. Reset your modem and/or router as needed.
1. Check to make sure you authorized your Google Account in Canvas.
A. Click on your profile picture on the left side.
B. Click Settings
C. Click on Google Drive from Other Services.
D. Follow directions to link your Google account to Canvas.
E. Google Drive should now be underneath Registered Services, as in the picture.
If you are still having issues, please contact Cory Little, 801-354-7485.
1. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.
2. If this is an HP Chromebook, press the side power button and refresh button for about 5 seconds. This is known as a hard reset.

When a Chromebook is not working properly, please powerwash the device BEFORE sending it to Technical Services for repair. Watch this video on how to Powerwash a Chromebook.
At the end of each year, Technical Services suggest that the teacher powerwash each device before they store them away for the summer.
Before getting into the keyboard shortcuts, please check that the keyboard being used is the US (United States) keyboard and not the ITNL (International) keyboard. The keyboard icon is in the bottom right corner.
