SHS Cross Country runners take 2nd at Regions

Congratulations to the SHS Cross Country teams for their performance at Region.  Both Girls and Boys Varsity Teams placed 2nd.  The following students placed:

SHS Chinese Bridge Students Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival

SHS Chinese Bridge Classes went to Chinatown last week. They did a treasure hunt in the Chinatown Supermarket, participated in a presentation at the University of Utah about Uncovering Chinese Railroad Workers‘ Experience in Utah through Archaeology, tasted Chinese authentic food in the restaurant, showed off their language skills, and celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival. We had a wonderful time!

SHS Students participate in Springville's 1st Annual US Constitution and Bill of Rights reading

SHS students  Zach Payne, Kailey Parkinson, Spencer Petersen and Chloe Ngaluafe recently participated in the 1st Annual US Constitution and Bill of Rights reading sponsored by Springville City and hosted by Mayor Matt Packard.  They helped read the both of these documents in 45 minutes on September 22nd.

Congratulations to the following students who were nominated by members of the History Department:

Sully Hall, nominated by Mr. Jacobus.  "Sully has brought enthusiasm to our first period class.  He is always on top of his work and has great insights into World History."

Bridie Harkness, nominated by Mr. Jacobus.  "Bridie is a great classmate who works with those around her.  Her participation in class has helped create a positive classroom environment."

Mr. Morgan honored at Utah Science Teaching Association Conference

Congratulations to Mr. Morgan for being honored at the Utah Science Teaching Association Conference.  He is one of two teachers from Utah who have been nominated for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Math Teaching.  We are so glad to have Mr. Morgan at Springville High!  Go Red Devils!
