On November 19, the Springville High Red Devil Cross Country team traveled to Casa Grande, Arizona, to participate in the Nike Southwest Regionals. The weather was warm and there was a light breeze as the top schools in the southwest region stepped up to the line. After a great season, our Red Devils were admitted into the boys championship race. They were set to face off against the other teams in hopes of earning an invite to the National Meet (NXN).

Congratulations to the Cross Country teams that did extremely well at the Nike Southwest Regional Championships in Casa Grande, Arizona, this week. The boys took third in the championship race which qualifies them for the Nike Nationals. Julie Sumsion took 13th overall in the girls championship race.
A big thank you to Springville High's Pit Orchestra (woodwinds, brass, percussion, and bass) who performed each night for the school musical, The Drowsy Chaperone.
It’s always a surprise when something smashes through the wall of a set, especially when it’s an airplane. But this is exactly what happened. The airplane, constructed by Ethan Beach, was part of Springville High School’s production of The Drowsy Chaperone.
This was a fun musical about a love-struck showgirl, a monkey (well, not a real monkey), a worried producer, a couple of gangsters, and a host of other colorful characters. There was witty dialogue, humorous scenes, and lots of fun songs.
