Congratulations to Red Devil Thomas Jones for his recent appointment as a cadet at the US Naval Academy. Thomas is the first Springville High School student to ever receive this appointment. To be considered for admission, a student must be recommended by a US Senator or Representative from the applicant’s congressional district. There are also high standards of physical fitness and academic achievement. Currently, the US Naval Academy has a 8.4% admittance rate. Thomas is currently serving as the President of the SHS Honor Society. He also has a 4.0 GPA and has taken many AP classes here at Springville High School.
