This past weekend, 14 SHS swimmers competed at the State 5A Championship swim meet.  The 5A division is by far the most competitive in the state.  Only the top 32 swimmers in the state are selected in each event to participate.  Of the 33 eligible 5A schools, there were only representatives from 26 women’s teams and 24 men’s teams.  Overall, our SHS women’s team placed 13th and our men’s team placed 8th. Here is a list of swimmers who participated in the state meet:

Ellie Boyer, Lilly Brower, Madelyn Maccabee, Brinley Weight each had 2 individual events and 2 relays.  Reece McLean was on 2 relays and Fernanda Hernandez and Sophie Mottishaw were each on 1 relay.

Nathan Anderson, Easton Mousser, and Ogden Riley each had 2 individual events and 2 relays, Kolby Jepperson had 1 individual event and 3 relays, and Sean Houser, and Austin Mertz each had 1 individual event and 2 relays and Isaac Ruiz had 1 relay.
