On Thursday, May 21, Springville’s varsity softball team played in the 4A one-loss semifinal bracket against local rival Maple Mountain. Maple Mountain centerfielder Ellie Anderson made a spectacular catch to rob Springville's Natalie Sumsion of what would have been a game-winning home run. The 2-1 victory allowed the Golden Eagles to play region rival Spanish Fork in the 4A championship game. Springville finishes 3rd in 4A state girls softball.
