Computer Programming Tour

On Thursday, November 15, forty second year computer programming students from Springville High and the Advanced Learning Center toured a few technology companies in Lehi including Microsoft, Adobe, and Xactware.Activities included a presentation by Microsoft from their company programmers, a tour of the Adobe building, and lunch provided by Xactware.  In the Spring, Xactware will host a 24-hour overnight code camp competition.Many of these students are also enrolled in UVU Concurrent Enrollment.  These students receive college credit in their high school programming classes.  &

Service Week

Next week the SHS student council will be hosting service projects each day after school to serve the community and our school. No money or supplies are needed, just time! If we record 600 hours of service donated by our students in these projects the school will hold an hour long lunch on Thursday, December 13th. We would love to see each student attend at least one day of service.

The Drama Department will be presenting “Into the Woods”, opening night is this Thursday.

SHS Drama Department presents "Into the Woods"

Don't miss the SHS Drama Department in their winter production of "Into the Woods".  Opening Night will be Thursday, November, 29th at 7:00 pm. Additional Showings will be on Friday, November 30th at 7:00 pm; Saturday, December 1st at 2:00 and 7:00pm; and closing night will be Monday, December 3rd at 7:00pm. The Cost is $8 per adult and $6 for students, seniors, and children.

 

November 19th, 2018 Announcements

http://bit.ly/nov19nl   Today there will be a Mini Parent/Teacher Conference & student make-up day. Teachers will be available in their classrooms from 1:20-3:00 pm to meet with parents or students. Please encourage your students to take this opportunity before the holiday weekend to meet with any teacher they could use help from. Please read the newsletter for all this weeks announcements. 

 

Winter Clothing Drive

SHS will be working with the Food and Care Coalition in Provo through the month of November to gather ADULT sized coats and other winter clothing for the Homeless. Our school goal is 150 items! We wil have a donation box in the front office starting today, November 13th, to collect items. We are having a friendly competition with MMHS to see who can collect the most. There is an urgent need for the following adult sized winter clothing:

Quiz Bowl Sign Ups

Announcements for the week of November 12, 2018

http://bit.ly/shsnov12nl   This is an important week for Seniors. UCAW, Utah College Application week, is going on in computer lab C-26. Representatives from Utah Colleges will be here at SHS to assist Seniors in applying for college. Tuesday, November 13th, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, counselors will be available to help parents and seniors with the FAFSA application. Please see the newsletter for links on more information and needed documentation.

Winter Guard Audittions

Come join SHS Winter Guard. Our Winter Guard team has won several compititions, last year taking 2nd at State. Audtions will be held 11/15 & 16th, a parent meeting will be on Wednesday, 11/14. No previous experience is required. 

Utah College Application Week

November 12th through the 16th, represenitives from Utah Colleges and Universities will be at Springville High School to assist students in the application process. Students must have their Drivers Licence, Social Security number, and a Debit or Credit Card to complete to applications. DSU, SUU, Westinster and SNOW will all be providing fee waivers for any student who applies at SHS during UCAW.
