(hint, hint: while these are the most competitive Scholarships, this is also the best way for Juniors and Sophomores to begin looking for scholarships.

Every college bound student should complete the FAFSA because:
Many colleges require the FAFSA to qualify students for all possible scholarships
A students dependent status may change while they are in college and may qualify for more government aid at that point.
Students can practice filling out a complicated government form with help from their parents.
To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you will need:
Your Social Security Number
Your Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
Your federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.)
Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
An FSA ID to sign electronically.
If you are a dependent student, then you will also need most of the above information for your parent(s).
The Opportunity Scholarship.
The Opportunity Scholarship has replaced the Regents and New Century Scholarships.
Opportunity Scholarship Requirements
Earn a 3.3 cumulative high school GPA
Complete 3 advanced courses
Complete 1 Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or Concurrent Enrollment (CE) course in each of the core areas of high school graduation:
math,
science, and
language arts
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Graduate from a Utah high school
