Springville opened the game on a 16-4 run and as it steamed past Brighton on Thursday, December 10, finishing a huge home victory 58-42. Lydia Austin torched the floor for a game-high of 20 points with six 3-pointers and seven boards while Savannah Sumison added 16 points and collected nine boards to power the home team. Bengal’s Dani Barton's had 14 points in the loss.

This December Springville High’s DECA club organized a “Santa letters” service project. DECA students visited elementary schools in Springville and decided to be Santa’s Elves. This was a good way to get all the SHS clubs involved; DECA reached out to every elementary school in Springville and the response was astonishing. The club ended up with over 800 letters to respond to so DECA club members had to act fast.
LIA served as volunteers in a Christmas/dinner party for the United Angels Foundation. In addition, LIA students from SJHS and SHS collected 2,289 letters to Santa for Macy's "Believe" program. Macy's donated $2 per letter to the Make A Wish Foundation. That is a contribution of approximately $4,600. The money is used to grant wishes to children with terminal illnesses
