PSAT /NMSQT

"The Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test (PSAT) is published by The College Board as a tenth or eleventh grade practice instrument for students taking the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) in the eleventh and twelfth grades."  The PSAT is generally given mid-October.  This test also serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Students wanting to apply for the National Merit Scholarship should take this test the fall of their Sophomore year. For more information click here.  Talk to Mike Johnson in the Counseling Office if you have questions and for more information.

Scholastic Assessment Test

"The SAT is a standardized, multiple-choice test used by most U.S. colleges and universities for admissions and placement decisions. SAT scores can also be used to determine scholarship eligibility. The test is administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and given nationally seven times a year.

The SAT is a seven-section, three-hour exam. Three of the sections are Verbal, three are Math, and one is experimental."  For more information visit www.collegeboard.com.
