Essential Understandings for Life Skills

Term 1

The student will be able to follow safe shop procedures and wear the proper safety gear.

The student will be able to follow a wiring diagram.

The student will be able to read and use a tape measurer.

Term 2

The student will be able to tune-up a small engine(change the oil and spark plug).

The student will be able to cut wood to a specific length.

The student will be able to properly use a hammer.

Term 3

The student will be able to build a project out of wood.

The student will be able to mix concrete.

The student will be able to solve simple math problems; i.e. ,division, fractions, subtraction, multiplication.

Term4

The student will be able to work as part of a team.

The student will be able to draw out a landscape.

The student will be able to repair a sprinkling system.
