Red Devils Advance to State Semifinals

Last Friday the Springville Red Devils squared off against the Woods Cross Wildcats pulling away with a narrow 16-12 win. Springville’s touchdowns were completed by Alema Key and Taylor Baker assisted by Steve Bate with the pass. Thomas Day scored with the kicks. Late in the fourth quarter Taylor Baker intercepted a pass with a minute to go; the Wildcats still managed a safety with eight seconds remaining. Springville’s defense held strong against Woods Cross’ offense during the last quarter, claiming victory.

The Red Devils will proceed to the 4A semifinals. SHS will play Dixie at Rice-Eccles Stadium, University of Utah, on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 2:30 pm.
