Last Friday the Springville Red Devils football team faced off against the Skyview Bobcats in the first round of the state playoffs.  Running back Alema Key led the Red Devils with three all-purpose touchdowns, two on the ground and one receiving. The Red Devils got the win, 35-14. Taylor Baker may have had the play of the season as the first half was winding down. The Bobcats were lining up to kick a field goal as time was expiring, defensive end Brody Swanson got a hand on the football and Baker did the rest, catching the ball and returning it 89 yards for a touchdown. The play increased the score 28-7 going into halftime instead of 21-10.

The Red Devils used their powerful stable of running backs in the second half to wear down the Bobcats and come out with a victory. Springville advanced to the state football quarterfinals and will face-off against Woods Cross this Friday, November 6, 3:00 pm, at home.   All Springville High supporters are invited to wear red and support our team!
