Springville girls’ soccer recently played in the state semifinals.   On October 20, in their final game against Timpanogos, the match went into double overtime.  The game was evenly tied 1-1 until the very end when a corner kick from Timpanogos made it into Springville’s goal. The final score was 2-1, in favor of Timpanogos. ChaiDee Woods, one of Springville’s team captains, said, “It was really close. A lot of the girls had injuries, so we had to compensate for it. But we played really well.”

The Lady Red Devils worked hard to play in the state finals. Kim Stratford, one of the team captains said, “It was difficult this year because we didn’t have competition, so we scrimmaged the boys clubs and played each other.” The extra practice apparently paid off, this is the second consecutive year Springville girls’ soccer has participated in state finals. Overall season record was 15 wins and 3 losses.
