Aurelia Olson crowned Miss Springville/Mapleton

Congratulations to Red Devil Aurelia Olson who was crowned Miss Springville/Mapleton last weekend.  Aurelia's social impact initiative is "Every Child Safe: Helping Protect Children from Abuse."   Aurelia is a talented singer and dancer and is very involved here at Springville High School and in the community.  Best wishes for her upcoming year.

HOSA students compete at State

HOSA is a national organization for secondary students enrolled in Health Science classes.    HOSA members from SHS recently competed at State Competition.   Ellianna Gurr and Paris Herrick placed 2nd in the CERT skills event!  Congrats to them and their teammates!   You can support our HOSA students by signing up for their Blood Drive on March 27th.

 

SHS FBLA students compete at State, two qualify for Nationals

Our Springville Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) returned from the FBLA State Conference that was held at the Davis Conference Center in Layton last Monday through Wednesday.  We earned a total of 6 awards and have 2 students qualify to attend Nationals this summer in Atlanta, Georgia!

SHS FFA students earn State Degree

Last week on Thursday and Friday the Springville FFA traveled to the Utah FFA State Convention held at Utah State University in Logan, UT. We had three FFA members receive their State FFA Degree. The State FFA Degree is the highest degree a member can get from the Utah FFA Association.

March Students of the Month

Congratulations to the following students for being nominated Students of the Month in the Health/PE Department.

Marco Aguayo, nominated by Mrs. Hall.  "Marco works SO hard every single day in class!  He never misses & he pushes himself to his max effort and leaves with a sweaty shirt daily!  He never complains and is willing to learn and work on improving his fitness. He is an inspiring example to everyone around him!"

SHS Student appointed as cadet at the US Naval Academy

Congratulations to Red Devil Thomas Jones for his recent appointment as a cadet at the US Naval Academy.  Thomas is the first Springville High School student to ever receive this appointment.    To be considered for admission, a student must be recommended by a US Senator or Representative from the applicant’s congressional district.  There are also high standards of physical fitness and academic achievement.

Administrative changes come to SHS

Shaun Blakey – Assistant Principal of Springville High
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Shaun Blakey as the Assistant Principal of Springville High for Nebo School District. 

Mr. Blakey earned his bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing and his master’s degree in School Counseling both from University of Phoenix. He earned an Educational Administrative License from Southern Utah University.
