Carter Jennings is our new AP and Honors Chemistry Teacher; however, he’s a long-time Red Devil. He graduated from Springville High School, then later attended and graduated from the University of Utah. This is his first year teaching and he’s excited about it.

Jennings reflects on his teaching vision, “My vision of teaching is to show my students that a “challenging” subject like Chemistry can be fun and much easier than people think. I hope that my own excitement about Chemistry is reflected in my teaching and students can get excited about it as well.”

Jennings demonstrated that Chemistry can be fun by making a balloon explode with fire.

“The most rewarding experience I’ve had teaching is to see the “light bulb” come on. Chemistry can be hard to understand; but, when I can help break it down for a student and they get it, that is a very rewarding experience,” said Jennings.

Jennings has been married for two years; his wife’s name is Cassidy.  Some of his hobbies include watching MythBusters, skiing, playing games, and spending time with his family.

“Some people may find it interesting that I hold my pen/pencil the same way Taylor Swift does. (I held it that way first!),” said Jennings.
