Springville FFA is in charge of our annual Sweetheart’s week. Sweetheart’s week is a fun contest between Senior girls who have been nominated from different clubs to become this year’s Sweetheart. This is a week long contest and with fun activities each day.   This year we had 19 amazing contestants.

On Monday the sweetheart contestants were interviewed by three judges:  Richard Allen, Heidi Bradshaw, and Joye Wimmer.

Farm activity was on Tuesday.  This is where the contestants had to move pigs from one pen to another, this took place at the animal lab. The girls all had a great time

On Wednesday our contestants baked and decorated tasty and creative cakes and presented them for auction at the assembly on Thursday. It was really awesome to see everyone, including students and teachers, getting involved in the cake auction. All money raised from the auction contributes to a great cause, Springville FFA’s annual Sub-for-Santa program.

We want to congratulate our FFA Sweetheart, Samantha Gutierrez, and our runners ups, Julie Sumsion and Lela Packard, for becoming our sweethearts royalty. We also want to congratulate everyone who participated and had a great time.

Saturday was the perfect way to finish the week with the Sweethearts Dance. The theme for this year was “Neon Moon.” The gym was decorated with a six foot tall moon hanging from the ceiling along with countless glowing stars in the dark ceiling. Black lights were also placed around the gym to add to the effect. At 10pm, Sweethearts Royalty had the wonderful opportunity of being recognized and then danced with their fathers and one with her grandfather. We are grateful to highlight these young women and their families.
