Camille Davis is Springville High’s very own figure skater. Davis will compete at the 2012 US Figure Skating Championships beginning January 22. She is one of the top 12 junior ladies in the country. Davis plans on competing at the senior level next year.
Davis started skating when she was only seven years old. She practices at least five hours a day both on and off ice.
Davis said, “I hope to be able to skate for as long as I can. I think it would be very amazing to be able to be competitive at the senior level. No matter what happens, I want to be able to share my love of figure skating with others and maybe someday coach.”
Davis loves when she is able to just skate and perform, she loves sharing her talent with others. She says the hardest part about ice skating is when she is injured and can’t skate or train how she wants. Even though that is one of the hardest obstacles to overcome, Camille thinks that when she is injured, it always teaches her the best lessons; and, she comes back stronger than before.
