SHS Journalism students win competition

Junior Mckenzie Prothero received a $1,000 scholarship for her 1st place finish in the best photos category

On Thursday, February 16, Springville High’s journalism class attended the Deseret News/UVU Review Journalism Conference and competition at Utah Valley University.  Junior Mckenzie Prothero received a $1,000 scholarship for her 1st place finish in the best photos category.  Senior Justin Coplan was awarded 2nd place for best feature story. 

All of Springville High’s journalism students entered the competition including Hyrum Atkinson, Jason Averett, Shayne Bailey, Aaron Brown, Justin Coplan, John Garfield, Raymond Jablonsky, Jacob Malone, McKenna Nuzman, Mckenzie Prothero, Whitney Richmond, Shane Roberts, Peter Scott, Tayli Smallcomb, Shayla Tanner, Haylee Tischner, and Rosalee Walker.  Their adviser is Carey White.
