Provo High was the setting for last Friday night hoops with the two teams facing off--Springville Red Devils and the Provo Bulldogs, with the “Dawgs” taking the W in a 60-56 victory.

The game started with the Red Devils and the Bulldogs going at it in a very competitive first quarter. Leading Springville was star player Nathan Israelsen with 12 points and 14 rebounds.  Provo had the lead after the first quarter with Bulldog Dallin Bosco hitting four treys; but, the strength of the Red Devil’s perimeter was too much in the first half while Dawson Pederson drained a three to give the Red Devils a 32-23 momentum lead at the end of the half.

After halftime it seemed like the Bulldogs coach gave them a great speech when they came back to tie at the end of the third.  Provo’s Christopher Moore was on fire from the fans perspective when he couldn’t be stopped by Springville’s defense.

Entering the fourth with the game tied, Springville’s Pederson wasn’t done yet while hitting 20 points to end the game; but, that wasn’t enough to slow down Provo as the Bulldogs ended the game winning 60-56.

Pederson’s thoughts on the game, “Just wasn’t enough.”
