Red Devil Basketball on Fire

Submitted by carey.white on

On Friday, February 2, Springville High’s varsity boys basketball team traveled to Lehi to face the Skyridge Falcons ending in a huge region road win for the Red Devils, 52-47.  Here are some player highlights and fun facts:

Dallin Packer is a Senior who plays post and will be in the home game this Friday against Provo.  As a team they prep by watching plays that can be effective against the team they are playing and then practice them.  Packer enjoys playing with his teammates and wants to continue to play hard and build his confidence.

Murdock Gunther is a Junior and plays guard.  Murdock preps for games like the one coming this Friday by going through his shot routine to warm up his throw and stretching.  He loves basketball and being on the team helps him to bond with other people.  Gunther wants to go as far as possible in his basketball career.

Cooper Riggs is a Sophomore.  He will also be playing guard for team in this Friday’s home game.  Riggs preps by getting as many shots in before the game as possible.  Riggs’ favorite part about basketball is the competition and overcoming it with his team.  Riggs hopes to continue playing basketball through high school.

Josh Ireland is a Junior and plays guard or wing.  Ireland preps by listening to his music. Ireland really enjoys basketball.

Nicholas Wheeler is a Junior who plays forward. Next game is this Friday, home game.  Wheeler likes to prep for games by going to practices, keep improving, and eat a PB&J. Wheeler really enjoys basketball for the competition and having the whole team as  friends.

All Red Devil fans are invited to come support our girls and boys Red Devil teams as they take on Provo this Friday at home.  Varsity girls play at 5:15 pm and the varsity boys play at 7 pm.
