February was CTE month at Springville High School. The celebration began with balloons, career pathway flyers, and CTE class bookmarks. On February 2, Springville High CTE teachers and counselors hosted a “CTE Fair” in the main gym during lunch. Teachers shared exciting activities happening in their CTE classes; in return, students received detention credit and an ice cream bar for attending.
Teachers continued throughout February to share career information related to their classes. In addition, a texting poll challenge was held, as were live interviews of CTE teachers on morning announcements.
A BINGO scavenger hunt encouraged students to seek out answers to questions about CTE classes and teachers at Springville High. Those who completed the full scavenger hunt were entered into a drawing at the end of the month. The winner received a gift certificate to the Red Devil Den Bookstore.
CTE month ended with a mini career fair in which 18 representatives from businesses, colleges, and military divisions met with students during lunch to stimulate interest in a variety of careers. All in all, students learned in February that Career and Technical Education classes at Springville High lead to great careers and successful futures.
