All three of the relays for both men and women’s teams qualified for the state meet when only 16 spots were available for all the 5A schools in the state which is a great accomplishment.  The men’s 200 Free Relay composed of Cameron Green, Alex Lanier, Austin Mertz and Braxton Armstrong were state champions and also broke the SHS school record.  With his lead off split on that relay, Cameron Green broke his own SHS school record in the 50 free that he had set earlier this season.

SHS had 12 swimmers that are starred above who qualified for individual events at state for a total of 16 races. Of those 16 individual races, we had 12 swims that were personal best times for the season and 8 swimmers including Janelle, Natalie, Nicole, Braxton, Cameron, Zach, Austin and Isaac who returned to swim individually in finals on Saturday and Alex was an alternate for finals. Cameron Green was the state champion in both the 200 Free and 100 Back.

The men’s team placed 7th overall in the state.  The women’s team was awarded the highest stateswim team GPA which was cumulatively a 3.89 for 20+ girls on the team which is an amazing accomplishment.  Congratulations to all of our SHS swimmers for a great season both in the pool and in the classroom.
