Springville’s Red Devil varsity soccer team hosted the Salem Hills Skyhawks on Tuesday, May 10, and came away with the win, 3-2.
Springville was trailing at halftime but made a comeback with two goals in the second half to tie the game and another in overtime to steal a win from Salem Hills. Morgan Allen, Josh Clegg, and Ryan Treasure all netted goals in the win.
Springville’s Red Devil varsity baseball team went head to head with Spanish Fork the first week of May. On Tuesday, May 3, Springville beat Spanish Rork 9-5 at home. Then, on Thursday, May 5, the Red Devils traveled to Spanish Fork to again claim victory over the Dons, 14-4.
Matt Peterson went 2-for-3 with three RBIs while Tanner Perrero went 1-for-3 with three RBIs to help Springville get the big win over Spanish Fork.
On Wednesday, May 4, Springville’s varsity softball team hosted the Lady Golden Eagles. Mary Fredrickson had a home run and Kaycie Jensen pitched the win from the mound as the Red Devils defeated Maple Mountain in region play, 3-1.
Springville High’s boys and girls track teams turned in some great performances at the Nebo Invite at Salem Hills last Friday. Both the sprinters and distance runners came away with wins.
Brennen Rymer was the 400m winner, Haden Penrod won the 1600m, Kennedy Clement was second in the 400m, Ciara Snapp second in the 100m, and both 4x100m relays took home wins.
Our next meet is the BYU Invitational on May 6-7. Thirty Red Devil athletes have qualified for this meet.
